We give to MFS because...

    The Oribabor Family - Pennsauken, NJ

Isaac (not pictured) and Peris Oribabor are the parents of two MFS alumnae, as well as a sophomore, Anehita. Originally from Kenya, engineer Isaac Oribabor is the president of Collings Contracting Technologies, Camden, a heating, ventilating and air conditioning company, and Peris is a sixth grade math teacher in Bridgeton public schools. Isimenmen ’03 is a Johns Hopkins alum who has just returned from a year teaching English in South Korea. Jessica ’05 recently graduated from Cornell University where she had an engineering double major.

“MFS has provided our children with a strong, well-rounded and diverse educational background which Jessica and Isi have carried over to their college years. The hands-on academic program provided them with opportunities to become independent thinkers and explore different ways of combining acquired knowledge from a global perspective.

“Our children attended Quaker schools all their lives. Community service and Quaker values made an impact in how they view the world and the communities in which they have lived. Both Isi and Jessica carried over the MFS community service initiative to their college years. They led groups of students to help rebuild New Orleans after Katrina; participated in mentoring and hosting of students from other countries; and conducted a service project in Guatemala, where students re-routed a river and built a concrete wall to prevent flooding in villages located along a river bend. MFS gave our children a purpose of volunteerism, courage and the initiative that we all can make a difference in our communities.
